Newspaper content: The world through a lens

I'm reading the Tagesspiegel online instead of getting the LA Times in print. I'll live with annoying ads. I popped over to the online version of the Times to see what they reported on today, to compare, and to confirm what I already knew: for world news, don't read American press. But I so wanted to read a paper newspaper! It's not a matter of journalistic quality or integrity, but rather of a nationalist lens that then compels me to question the quality and integrity of the reporting. I typically read the BBC for general news anyway; it was only my recent romp in the material world of newspapers that got me to thinking anew. Sigh.
